Earthbound Moon
Beginnings

23E Studios began developing the idea for Earthbound Moon a year ago as we researched a way to use the strengths of art and collaborative creation to create an installation for Holyoke, MA. This Summer we will be at a residency there working with local arts organizations to explore the possibility of converting a city block and numerous small lots across the city into a sculpture garden. From this project we embarked on Earthbound Moon, to spread globally our conviction that revitalization requires community development alongside commercial development, not as an afterthought. Industrialization has a 300 year history of failing people using that model.

What started as a wild idea is slowly becoming a reality. 23E Studios is negotiating with landowners in Bledsoe, Texas; Evanston, Illinois; Crete, Greece; Namibia, Somaliland, South Africa, Tacoma, Washington; Juneau, Alaska for leases to begin installing sculptures in 2010. We expect to gain 501c3 status in Summer 2010.
